We took our name from the Modenese Apennine village where our factory is located. Here, for centuries, ceramics have been worked using red clay extracted from the ancient Matilda quarries. Our job is to innovate this ancient production process made of earth, water and fire, combining the beauty of the material with the infinite possibilities of technology.
In 1979 the company became part of the Gresmalt Group, one of the main players in the Italian ceramic sector with a turnover of over 130 million, specialising in porcelain stoneware.
In 2019, Cermiche di Frassinoro simply became “Frassinoro“: a guarantee of style, quality and reliability, with an all-Italian heart.

Forture, a project for sustainable ceramics
The Gresmalt Group has promoted a technological innovation project called Forture which has been co-financed by the LIFE Programme of the European Union. The objective is to develop a sustainable model for tile production, integrating environmental (Life Cycle Assessment), economic (Life Cycle Costing) and social (Social Life Cycle Assessment) impact assessment tools into a corporate business model. It is a fundamental tool for monitoring the production process and for managing it responsibly, thinking about our planet and future generations.
