At Cersaie 2018, Frassinoro presented a study analysing the 2020 trends for the ceramic world. In a society increasingly characterized by digitalization, green consciousness, massive migrations, two are the macro trends that will affect the interior design. The first is the Eco-essential: sustainable materials, essential design, modularity. It will be increasingly important to produce zero-impact ceramics. Neutral colors, worn materials, oxidized metals will be the main characteristics.

The second trend is Root: tradition, contamination of styles, natural materials. Root ceramics will be characterized by warm colors, wood and terracotta, small and rectangular sizes.

Also the Salone del Mobile 2019 confirmed these trends, indicating as protagonists wood, metal and textiles, black and the primary colours, which are gradually beginning to dominate the unsaturated and pastel shades.

The trend for wood sees light colours and natural finishes, while the trend for metal sees the use of tubular, in tribute to the centenary of the Bauhaus.

Together with black, white and primary colours also come back: precise shapes and geometries Mondrian style are destined to take the place of sinuous lines and dusty shades, although the latter still remain present in the decor.

Finally, exit the scene for all the floral and tropical decorations, considered too artificial as compared to the new orientation, which is closer to nature as an element to live, respect and preserve.
