The research underlying the 2023/24 Trend Book  points to Brave Brown as the hottest colour trend for the next two years. It transmits  warmth, security, trust, and balance. Inspired by earthy tones, Brave Brown appears to convey that back-to-nature approach we all aspire to, encouraging us to embrace change. When used in paintwork, this essentially neutral colour helps to create a reassuring setting within which numerous other colours are allowed to shine.

During the pandemic, our homes became a place of safety and at the same time a place from which to start anew. Although forced upon us, this retreat into our homes allowed us to rediscover the value of simple things and the beauty and potential of the spaces we took for granted. Brave Brown reflects this very sentiment: the stability of a peaceful place and the confidence we need to make our way back into the world and open up to the future.

Brave Brown can be used to create various colour palettes. As it’s a neutral shade, it can be used extensively and paired with both warm and cold shades, even relatively bold ones. For a restful tone-on-tone effect, its elegant harmony with the range of beiges is obvious. Thinking along these lines, Brave Brown can be combined with many of our wood-effect porcelain stoneware series, such as Greenwood, Lodge or Loop. Beige is a shade that can be found in almost all the stone looks, such as Prisma, Quartzite and Norway, for example.

Brave Brown helps ochre and green express all their innate energy and naturalness, conveying an idea of sustainability embodied by choices and gestures at all  levels. When used with any shade from the broad palette of blues, Brave Brown emphasises its elegance and nobility, while also lending warmth to the tone. Whether it’s dark, dusty, or muted, blue gives life to a palette that encompasses all the shades of the sky and the sea, and even the Earth seen from space. These are the decisive characteristic colours of Art Color, a concrete-effect porcelain stoneware collection launched at Cersaie 2022, and Bucolic, a 20×20 wall tile line whose pastel shades and stylish patterns celebrate  nature in all its glory. Blue and green also feature heavily in the Palette collection, a 20×20 wall tile series  with a bold textural appeal that proudly conveys its ceramic essence.

Finally, Olive and Flora are two collections from the extremely environmentally sustainable G3NIUS line whose tones sit perfectly alongside Brave Brown,  in both the background tiles and the decorations designed for wall use.
